Critical People Challenges in Harsh Business Environments: How HR and Business Owners Can Step Up

As companies struggle with staff reductions, decreased revenues, employee stress and morale, high benefit costs and other types of organizational change, HR professionals and business owners are thrust into the unenviable position of having to make greater impact within their companies with decreased resources at their disposal.

However, the current environment also represents an opportunity for HR professionals and business owners to be to be viewed as true business leaders within their organizations, leading their teams and people through these challenging times. CCA presented at The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) 2009 conference on managing human capital to ensure compliance.

CCA's SVP, Human Capital Consulting, Thomas Diamante, Ph.D., spoke
to financial services executives addressing "Intangibles that
Enable or Disable Internal Controls and Compliance Behavior". His talk focused on reducing compliance risk triggered by human capital-based dynamics.

CCA's SVP of Human Capital Consulting, Thomas Diamante, Ph.D., authored a Chapter entitled: "Authentic Performance: The Valuation of Behavior as a Negotiated Business Outcome".

Authentic measures of performance drives business objectives and engages the worker. This chapter is a how-to on the process of creating and implementing metrics so that "measured value" is genuine, inspiring and directive.

" Employee Health and Development Work Project Learning Circle Meeting" sponsored by The Ford Foundation and The Families and Work Institute. The meeting took place in Miami on December 11-12, 2008. The focus was on demonstrating the value of an investment in employee health and organizational wellness.

CCA Regional Director, Russell Correa and Client Services Consultant, John Levy along with Paul Feuerstein, Executive Director, Barrier Free Living presented to Human Resource Directors at the Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies. The presentation title was “Keeping Your Staff Healthy and Productive: The Cost Effectiveness of Investing in the Well-Being of Employees”. The seminar focused on the value of investing in the health and development of staff and best practices on stress management.
