Manager Development
Research indicates that one-third of those who get promoted into management positions fail within the first two years because they cannot successfully build teams, communicate effectively, or keep their cool in tough situations. Typically the most lacking skills, especially at the middle management level, are the ability to:
- Negotiate
- Influence
- Listen
- Discipline
- Mediate
Strong people skills like these are essential components in becoming an effective, productive, respected and valued manager.
CCA knows that managers who possess strong interpersonal and leadership qualities like these – in addition to their technical skills – will be the most valuable in delivering on the goals, objectives and mission of your organization.
CCA offers two Manager Development products to help managers obtain and integrate these skills. Both follow a short-term coaching model:
Manager Development A - includes eight targeted coaching sessions with two follow-up sessions. Manager Development A also includes an input report incorporating feedback from key personnel plus one on-line self-assessment.
Manager Development B - includes four targeted coaching sessions plus one follow-up session. Manager Development B also includes one on-line self-assessment.
The results of both Manager Development programs include improved people skills, better self-understanding on the part of the manager, and a clear picture of future development goals. These results represent a significant return on investment.
